On the morning of July 10th, Professor and doctoral supervisor Guo Chonghui from the School of Economics and Management at Dalian University of Technology gave an Introduction to Economics and Business course to undergraduate students majoring in economics for the 2022 cohort, with the theme of "Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Driving the Development of Digital Economy". The course was hosted by Professor Li Tong, Vice Dean of the School of Business and the School of Intellectual Property.

Professor Guo Chonghui takes the digitization, networking, and intelligence of big data as the starting point to introduce the era background of big data, 5G, and artificial intelligence. He points out that big data, as a comprehensive concept, is closely related to information networks, spatiotemporal networks, and human intelligence classification. Regarding the digital economy, by explaining the connotation of the digital economy, listing data economy talents and data scientists, and explaining big data management and business analysis, we aim to construct a knowledge framework related to the digital economy for students. Professor Guo Chonghui cited relevant cases of ChatGPT technology to analyze the history and methods of OpenAI in the field of artificial intelligence. He also vividly explained the important role of big data and business analysis, big data mining methods, etc. in smart transportation, smart healthcare, and smart education, using Dalian taxi operation big data processing, medical big data related development, and smart teaching as examples. At the end of the course, Professor Guo Chonghui answered the students' questions about the development trend of big data, encouraging everyone to work hard, learn extensively, understand the current situation and trends of the times, shoulder the mission of the times, and shoulder the important responsibilities of the times.

In this introduction class, Professor Guo Chonghui analyzed the era background, connotation, and application of big data and artificial intelligence driven digital economy from three aspects: the era background, digital economy, and application cases. Based on relevant typical application cases, he delved into the development prospects of the digital economy, helping students have a clearer understanding of professional learning.
